Just before in my dream my brother had been showing me how to relax my fingers and rotate them freely. As I tried to copy him I was more stiff the fingers did not move so smoothly. My “trying” consciousness was getting in the way.

Gold over yellow. The soul floating freely, effortless ease. Awareness liberated from the anxiety of trying or fear of failing.

I start a consultation skills course in Seoul, Korea today. This quality of relaxation and awareness is key in the consultation. Being present to what is without trying too hard. Looking, listening, allowing the deeper picture to show itself. As ever the consultation is an opportunity to discover what i will learn.

This three day course carefully unfolds the tantric story for students using the language of colour to connect it with Odier’s experience. More importantly the course also offers students the opportunity to have their own experience of this journey. Throughout the course there are carefully designed practical activities to resonate with the tantric initiations. Naturally the course process is less deep and much gentler than the true process but, using pomanders, quintessences, Archangeloi and Equilibrium oils students will receive the energetic support from the Aura-Soma sequence to have their own process.

Being with the energy

It is worth saying that there is no sexual content in this course. Tantra is often seen as a sexual practice and indeed the first Equilibrium bottle in the Tantric sequence is B6 the Red Red combination associated with The Lovers in the Tarot. However the essence of Tantra is a relating in love with the whole of life. The sexual meeting is but one aspect of this greater totality. In the Tantric Illumination course the journey is all and only about this broader context of love. This is entirely fitting with the fact that this course has arisen in the time of B110 the Pink / Deep Magenta Love Rescue. The process we travel in this course is one of growing in love, bringing love and light to the wounds and scars of love, the roots of our separation, and through this developing more openness and softness in relation to all of life.

Waking up this morning my mind was full of thoughts, thoughts of numbers, thoughts I have had before but flowing clearly as if writing themselves. I think it is time to start writing the books I have been building towards for so long. These words are the start of my writing.

Throughout the pages that follow I shall be referring to Aura-Soma Equilibrium. This is a sequence of colour combinations revealed in bottles containing oil over water. They are my lens for looking at the world in this life. I met Aura-Soma when fresh out of university at 23 years old I was looking for a spiritual path. It was 1985 and I met many possibilities – the New Age was just dawning in the UK. Fairs and exhibitions were full of small esoteric schools and teachers scattered amid the stalls selling crystals, essences, New Age music and tools. One stall caught my eye, people gathered around it likes bees around honey. A stall with these glittering coloured bottles and a blind lady dressed in white. I stayed in the shadows but took the literature. Reading it later something deep inside of me stirred though I could not put words onto it yet. I realize now it was a recognition, I sensed there was a potential within it, something that could yield a philosophy. History had been my subject at university but philosophy was my love.

Twenty eight years later and I am still here, the truth of my feeling has been born out by my life’s work. I am often asked what attracted me to Aura-Soma. I think the best answer I can give is it was my future potential. Beyond its surface appearance Aura-Soma is my vocation.

It is time to begin to put my thoughts into books – i thought i would this, my first step, here with you on my blog.

PS I caught this image early one morning walking into the Equilibrium room. I think such an announcement deserves a fine picture. The curtains were drawn that morning and only a narrow shaft of sunlight penetrated the darkness. It illuminated this, and only this, bottle. A lighting effect i could not have bettered even if i had tried!

What was most remarkable was the way the bottle was at the very top of the shaft of light – as if standing illuminated on a column of light.

The Light of Day

As we approach Cambridge I see in big capital letters the word DAYDREAMER painted onto a bridge. In my mind thoughts arise. The Latin word “Dei” – meaning God – sounds the same as the English word “day”.  Maybe this whole world is a creation of  Dei Dreamer. A second English expression comes to my mind – “In the light of day.” It means when things can be seen clearly. It crosses my mind that if it were really this second word “Dei” that was being said “In the light of dei” then perhaps the meaning would be close to the Tantrika’s experience – that all reality is created out of the light of consciousness.

A Tantric Journey

I am really enjoying this new course unfolding. There is a wonderful story hidden in the sequence and all the way through the course there are activities using associated Aura-Soma products: pomanders, quintessences, pocket rescues and Archangeloi to give students their own experience of this journey. This quote arrived in my email this morning just as my heart was hurting through disappointment. Yesterday i lost something and, while i want to blame another, i have to say that there were things I could have said and done that would have made a difference.  So all this morning i have been quiet and keeping some attention on my inner thoughts and feelings as I watch this process. When this message came i first thought of the other but then I thought of myself. It is a reminder to learn to love my imperfect self.

Physical Perfection

The bottle that comes to mind is B77. Clear / Magenta. One of the most important phrases for this bottle is “Physical perfection.” Surprising in a way since there is no red here for the physical, the key is that our relationship with the world begins in our mind. An example would be beautiful model who never feels beautiful enough, versus the plain person who is happy with themselves just as they are. Perfection is as much in the eye of the beholder as it is in the physical object. The clear of the critical mind can be relieved by the active love of magenta operating from deeper within. Allowing a perfect love to flow to the inevitable imperfections of this physical world.

Love as the key to moving on

As I write this now I recognize another connection with my life today. B77 is the last step before change.  Why? – because B78 is transformation – the violet rescue. In the story of Vicky Wall B77 was the last bottle she knew. B78 was born in the days just after her leaving the body. Today we get the keys for our new home. On Monday we move in to a new house. So B77 comes to me as i too prepare to let go of my old home.

Passion and poetry

We are all more complex than the image we project but Depardieu has been a captivating exemplar of this passion and poetry. A good example comes during the (now old) film “Green Card” In the film he is a French cook in New York who has married an upper class New Yorker in order to get a Green Card – the permission to work in the USA. They married without meeting but the film follows them meeting and despite themselves falling in love as they have to help each other achieve their dreams.

The moment comes when Depardieu’s character is asked to play the piano at an upper class soiree where his “wife” is trying to persuade the hosts to donate their trees to her project for city children. He is not a pianist and does not expect to be asked to play. Yet he gives a performance of passion and poetry that overwhelms the audience. He lets go of calculation and believes. You can see it in this clip (His predicament starts at around 1 minute)

“in Russia one can only believe”

This post was prompted by some lines from one of the great Russian poets, Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev. He is writing about Russia herself. I learned them from my wife Elena yesterday. Somehow they brought my image of Depardieu and Russia together.

You will not grasp her with your mind

Believe in her, if you are able…

Green Card: Red and Magenta

When helping develop the Aura-Soma Training we brought in the USA Green Card as an example of a symbolic use of green. At that time we connected it to the idea of opening up a space (a green issue) – in this case the space to work in the USA legally.

What comes to my mind today however is as an extension beyond these ideas.
The green chakra is in the middle of the chakra system, red and magenta sit at either end of the chakra system. It strikes me that while the Green Card opens the space, the dynamic that drives the process is a magenta/red one. Magenta is the home of our dreams – the inspirations that move us in this world, and it is the dream of a better life that drives people to seek to work in the USA. Red however is the colour for work and home-making. The Green Card is the facilitator to ground (red) a dream (magenta).

The story of Green Card is driven by these two ends of the spectrum. The characters meet because they each have a dream the other can help with. In order to make their dreams work they have to engage at the red level.

Tantric Illumination

This flow between magenta and red is interesting to me at the moment because my next course explores the Tantric Illumination Set in Equilibrium. Within the Tantric Illumination Set a large part of the process is the interaction between red and magenta. How to integrate the spiritual dimension with the earthly living? How to support their harmonic convergence into a synchronicity of being?

I am sure that B105 is an important key in our growing as humanity. Not just because we need to learn to live together and treat each other as we would ourselves. I believe there is more to it.  My Rainbow Evolution course explores a new rainbow of tertiary colours in which coral is not a chakra but our collectivity – humanity as a whole. A collective awakening. This is one way to interpret our evolution, out of our (apparent) separation consciousness (yellow) and into an awareness of our deeper copnnectedness. The golden flecks in B105 speak of soul consciousness rather than ego consciousness.

Arguelles, the man who popularised the Mayan calendar, first came to fame when he called for a global event to honour what he called the Harmonic Convergence on August 16 / 17 1987. There are many levels to this event but the one i focus on here is the idea of the convergence between our  human self and our spiritual other – which is really our greater consciousness. He described it as a “synchronisation of being” resulting in a “release of recollection” and a “knowing better what we should do next”. In my own journey, without any conscious plan on my part, i am noticing that the courses i have been developing these last few years are sharing one theme, moving in the same direction -   towards this Light self.

From Mystery to Mastery – a B108 course – which supports an evolution of our personality through the stimulus of turquoise individuation;  through Alchemy of Creativity a B109 course which stimulates the incarnational star to activate in relation to the soul star, to now, a B110 course, Tantric Illumination, which focuses on the approach and integration of our light being self with our human condition. Bringing the light to the physical – the aura to the soma.

“What an interesting idea.” “Yes” she replied. “Just looking at a watch that ticks around and down gives us a feeling of time pressure … time marching on, speeding up, grinding us down.  A clock running backwards though – it releases us from the sense of pressure, of time beating down on us.”  Aha, I thought. It is similar to the idea behind Aura-Soma’s use of the backward spiral when applying a Quintessence …

Eyes wide open

The clock she was speaking of was part of a Slavic time system which expands to measure days, months, years and more. Too many aspects to share in full now but there is another interesting detail that I will mention today – in this system the new day begins in the early evening. It may sound strange but I can imagine benefits here too. At 8pm our working day is finished and yet we are still awake to enter the new day consciously. In our current system the new day begins at midnight a time most people are sleeping. We emerge into the new day only once it has already started. Sleepy, we struggle to wake up and get up to speed with the new day. This daily experience seems to me to be an echo of our birth experience: emerging out of unconsciousness into a world that is already running. Maybe the 8pm transition would build a resonance closer to the experience of the soul awake and entering the body that is yet to be born on the other side of darkness out of the womb.

A Moon Clock

The part of the system that appeals to me most at the moment though is the moon clock. It featured twenty eight holes around the outside of a wooden disc. Each evening a peg is added to the circle marking the progress of moon’s waxing and waning. Such a system asking for our participation is really helpful in tuning us into this important cycle so belittled in our modern world. I am starting tonight – a just turned full moon and an excellent moment to start.

The world is still here and we may or may not be in a new time, but I think in any case the key  is for each of us individually to come to the point of inviting the spiritual dimension into our lives.
