Okayama Days

A few days between courses in Japan and I am staying in Okayama. One of my hobbies is to relate a place with its telephone code and the equivalent Aura-Soma colour combination. Okayama is 086 which indicates the B86 bottle Oberon – Clear / Turquoise. There have been some (in the literal sense) extra-ordinary episodes.

Teaching and synchronicity

The turquoise colour has always been associated by Aura-Soma with the Greater (or Inner) Teacher. The idea being that life itself is the teacher and the events of our life are the lessons we are to experience. Moreover turquoise energy is a trickster type energy – just when you think you are ahead of the game then you meet the lesson coming from the opposite direction.

The other day I could not find my camera. I had it in the afternoon when I was out in the city. Before going to bed I could not find it anywhere. I had scarcely used it. I was more confused than upset. The next day, I dropped in to Starbucks to ask if anyone had found a camera. It was on the off chance really, as I could not remember even having had it out of the bag there. I asked (in gesture Japanese) to the man behind the counter “camera, yesterday?” “Wait a minute please” he replies. He disappears in to the back room. A sequence of staff hurry out of the room and out of the shop. I am waiting. He appears again and says wait. I begin to imagine that now “no news is good news”. Sure enough, ten minutes later the staff begin to reappear and one of them has my camera. I am amazed and so impressed by the level of Japanese honesty. I give many thanks and go to sit down with my drink. As I sit my foot kicks something underneath my seat. I look to find a fashion store bag, complete with purse! Amazing. I hand it straight it in – to the very same guy who just returned my camera. What a quick circle of karma I think. Thirty minutes later two girls appear looking anxious. I point them in the direction of the counter and all is well.

It crosses my mind that the one I have to thank is the one I haven’t seen. The one who handed in my camera. Behind the scenes (in my view) a turquoise energy is creating a sequence of events, a series of meetings and synchronicities that make some kind of sense but which can’t be explained rationally.

It is very like the action in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” The play in which Oberon – the King of the Fairies – appears. In the play one confusion leads to the next, causing interruption and chaos in the human world, but which all turns out for the best in the end.

Meeting other Worlds

Another turquoise aspect (in fact related to the above I think) is the meeting between different dimensions. “Trans-dimensional” is one of the words offered for turquoise in the Aura-Soma training. Okayama is famous for its island park, named “Korakuen”. Originally called the “Koen” – “back garden” of the castle which is just over the river, the garden has the feeling of another world, like a fairy world, like the realm of Titania and Oberon. Beautifully maintained, paths, hills, water and views, the garden is a delight to explore. One hill in particular seemed at the heart of the garden, the path winding around and up to the top to provide views of the whole gardens. I felt there was the magenta / turquoise heart of the garden, a little platform part way down the hill being the (turquoise) balance to the (magenta) summit of the hill.

Hill and Castle

Hill and Castle

Aside from the whole place being like a fairy garden, more importantly, the transdimensional energy presented itself to me as follows. First beautiful fish swimming at the waters edge, a chance for me to meet another dimension, that of an underwater world. I can’t live in that world of water, the fish can’t live in my world of air, but here, in this garden, we could look into each others’ worlds.

And then, having read how the garden is remarkable for the wildbirds that visit there, rare in the heart of a city, I left the garden to return to the hotel. As I passed up the main street, the light beginning to fade as the sun had recently set, I had cause to look up. What I saw took my breath away. A flock of birds, swirling above me, swarming, dividing, wheeling around and around, apart and into each other. Most passers by seemed oblivious to this beauty and wonder taking place just meters above their heads. Once again I was witnessing another world. This time the dimension above me.

The turquoise energy – the touching into another dimension. Whether the world of water – dolphins, fish and the ocean of consciousness, or the world of air, the birds that fly up from the green of trees into the blue of the sky, never flying too high, like us they are unable to leave the earth entirely, but for a while birds can experience another dimension, the freedom of the air.

At the entrance to the main station is a statue of a samurai boy Momotaru, a local hero. He has companions with him, a dog, a monkey, and on his shoulder a bird. A local hero who is connected to other worlds, Birds and animals. It is not his purely his strength that sets him apart – it is his conections!

And there are statues all over the city, nearly all turquoise, I guess its copper in the bronze that is weathering, and as far as I have seen, nearly all the statues are of either women and girls, or animals and birds. The whole atmosphere is very playful, light and feminine. As if expressions of the other worlds have manifested here amongst the people going about their daily business.

Come to think of it, another indication of the interface with another world is at what seems to be the major crossroads of the city centre. Here the two tallest towers of the city stand, as if bridging to the world above and channelling energy down from above. The point is that this crossroads is striking because it is held in a perfect circle. The buildings are set back to create a perfect circle- it gives a wonderful feeling of space and flow. And of course the circle is the shape of the spiritual as opposed to the square or the cross of the material. Here at the heart of the city is a ripple of spiritual energy that has made its mark on the geometry of the modern city centre.

There is one more story. It concerns mythology, archetypes and the Fisher King. But it is a bigger piece, and I haven’t quite got it myself yet and so it must wait for another time.

To summarise, Okayama, (phone code 086), turquoise energies do indeed seem to be here. A place for synchronicities, flow and lessons. A place too that touches into other dimensions, especially those of the devas and the fairies of nature, and the world of air and birds above.

A fabulous insight and amazing alternative view of our world. What does absolutley resonate with me is people’s percieved inability to appreciate nature and to be oblivious to the world about them. So busy making money and busy being busy that they appear to not really see what is about them. Society does condition us to accept money as a means of security so we do tend to spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get it. Time to slow down and smell the roses! Thanks Dominic.
