My wife visited the Houses of Parliament the other week. She is from Russia and was impressed by the history and the traditions we have in the UK, particularly the fact that on the opening of Parliament the Queen is not given entry to the House of Commons – instead she has to invite the Commoners to visit her in the House of Lords – a tradition that dates back to the 1642.

It started me thinking about numbers …
44 – the number for the UK
The UK international telephone number is +44. It is very interesting because since 4 is the number of the Emperor in the Tarot one could expect 44 to be a doubly strong Emperor. However my theory is that double numbers are actually the undoing of that number and instead offer the stepping stone to the message of the next number. So 44 is really the undoing of the Emperor – an Emperor in transformation. Indeed we see this in the colour of B44 – pale violet in the top fraction is opposite to the yellow of B4 (see my future book on numbers for more about this).

Constitutional Monarchy
But here is the thought for today. The United Kingdom is both the most famous monarchy in the world – and yet it is also, as far as I know, the original constitutional monarchy – that means a kingdom where the power of the monarch (king / queen) has been limited by agreements with the people. The British monarchy has survived because it submitted to the rule of law. Amazing then that in B44 we have not only the violet of surrender but also the pale blue in the base: blue is the colour for the law. To return to 1642 then – as mentioned above – this is the definitive date when the monarchy lost the battle with the House of Commons. If we take this date as Equilibrium colour combinations it perfectly represents this process. B16 violet /violet and B42 yellow yellow – these two complementary colours are the quintessence of this conflict between the power of the self – yellow / the emperor, and violet / surrender and transformation.
A final coincidence
Other dates have been important too … 1215, 1649, 1688 – all have a story to tell. But I leave you instead with another 44 association – it is the number of constitutional monarchies as listed by Wikipedia that have survived into the modern world.

An interesting thought the double # is the undoing of the single number to which it corresponds. #4 in AuraJIn represents the opening of the window to receive the light and sits above the #12 (Clear/Blue) at the back of the neck at the base of the skull. It also organizes the body systems. #5 is on the medial side of the ankle speaks to regeneration and change. On the outside of the ankle is #16, breaking down of old forms. Holding #16 and #5 together adds to #21. Letting go of anger and letting of of what it is that we think life/things should be. Then to the #21 being able to see our part in creation. Is it to Be that the un-Doing is bringing Britain to Do?
