A moment for jubilation as Mubarak stepped down on Friday. But now Egypt is entering into unknown territory, or, we could say, the unknown is entering Egypt..
18 is the Egyptian bottle. 0 is the unknown.
18 days of protest that led to this opening moment.
The latest Equilibrium bottle is 108.
In 108 the 0 enters 18. The 0 is the Fool.
108 The Fool has entered Egypt
The Fool here is an archetype. It is an archetype of freedom. It is not a person, it is an energy. It is a force that flows from above down, or from within out. In the Tarot the path of The Fool is the first step of the lightning energy that flows down the Tree of Life paths to strike The Tower. The Tower represents any fixed structure. In this case a political system.
25 Ignited by a spark
The revolution began on the 25th January. B25 in Aura-Soma is the Florence Nightingale bottle. A purple magenta combination that represents an awakening impulse from above. It represents a spark that ignites a passion. Thus in the story of Florence Nightingale she was inspired and passionate enough to overcome all resistance to achieve her goal of helping the soldiers in the field.
This was a revolution that was sparked from above. The spark was the example of the successful Tunisian revolution earlier in the month.
0 within 18 – a groundswell of feeling
This spark ignited a possibility which rippled into an existing reservoir of feeling – a huge discontent within the vast majority of Egyptian people. The Moon, 18, represents hidden feelings. In 108 the 0 in the middle looks like a drop of water. The Tunisian example was a moment of hope which potentised this drop of water as it fell into the reservoir of emotion within the Egyptian people. It was this drop that rippled out in the emotional body of the Egyptian people. Its energy was such that it produced a resonance which could no longer be contained.
Change
Sooner or later change comes to everything. If that which is changing is loved or needed too much then change is like Death. But change can also be for something better in which case our feeling response to change can be willingness and hope.
A key factor in this revolution was the role of the young. Partly because of the role of the new technologies – twitter, facebook and the internet – which the young are so able with. But also because the young are open to hope and the new. For Mubarak, so identified as he was with the system he had ruled for 30 years, this change could only be the end of all he had lived for – and so a Death. But for the Egyptian people, with no jobs and no hopes this change could only be for the better. Their fear of death was less than their absolute hunger for change. The young were willing to risk, and their willingness opened the way for the millions to follow.
The Emperor and Death – a dissolution of fear
This question of hope or death is important because it appears as a significant step in the connection of the 0 and the 18 in the Tree of Life. Netsach is a turning point in this story. The choice here is fear or change. Netsach lies between The Fool and The Moon. It is the sphere of Emotion.
From our ego perspective in Yesod we approach Netsach through the path of the Emperor. This is the yellow gold combination and these colours represent not only our joy but also our capacity to resonate with fear. Meanwhile, flowing into Netsach from above, is the path of Death. The prospect of Death is usually the greatest trigger to fear and this fear then limits our action. Thus for example a ruler can use a secret police force to control a population.
This is what happened in Egypt for many years. But in these 18 days something different happened. Fear was not the predominant emotion in the path of the Emperor. And in the people, animated by passion, a seed of hope and confidence grew into a movement that proved irresistible. The success of this revolution has allowed the seed of possibility that was trapped by fear to burst its shell and begin to grow.
New life, an olive shoot has appeared in Egypt. Whether it will be able to grow into its potential is unknown. It is still the old guard in the army who are in control; nevertheless a genie has been let out of the bottle. I wish the best for this fledgling opportunity.
