Last week I was teaching in the Aura-Soma centre in Hungary. As I looked around the teaching room during a student pairwork activity it struck me just how many lovely people I have met there over the years. And I just knew that so many of those people, though I no longer see them, would still look back on their time in Kozpont as a happy and valuable period of their life: a time of self discovery, new friends, nourishment, support and adventure. In that moment I felt happy and privileged to be a part of that space and time. You will find some pictures from Kozpont through the years at the end of the post.
There are two further compliments I would pay to Aura-Soma Kozpont and Eva Hermann one of the women who created it.
Professionalism
Eva’s commitment to depth and quality in the teaching and practice of Aura-Soma resulted in – for some time at least (and perhaps still today) – Hungary having the highest percentage of Aura-Soma students becoming Practitioners anywhere in the world.
University course
Another tremendous achievement of hers is that she has created a colour training which has been accepted as a University level course by the Hungarian educational system. It is perhaps the only country in the world where elements of the Aura-Soma system have achieved such recognition.
Creativity
Finally I love the element of creativity I find in Kozpont. Another person there Timea has added to that, and the display pictured below is one of her creations. When I first saw it I had an impression of some kind of Tibetan-style rainbow headdress that would be used in ritual.
Come and visit
I look forward to working in Hungary for many years to come. And I can recommend attending courses there to non Hungarian students too because Budapest is a very impressive city full of history and culture, good and restaurants and everything is reasonably priced.
Here are some photos from Hungarian courses …
